AWARD-WINNING DIRECTOR FRED GUERRIER RETURNS WITH A SLOW BURN THRILLER Teaming up with Langston Fishburne, Fred Guerrier showcases the terror of a man attempting to live a life in isolation.
WASHINGTON, DC-- MAY 3, 2017-- Fred Guerrier, along with the film’s producer, Jasmine Wright, are announcing Langston Fishburne as the newest addition to the cast. Langston has a deep catalog, starring in The Dunning Man and Have a Little Faith. Two weeks ago, the duo announced The Wire’s Tony Head as the newest edition of the cast for their short film, BEAR. In addition to his long stretch on the Wire as tough cop Major Bobby Reed. Head has also appeared on TV shows Veep and is recurring on Amazon's Pride: the Series. A brainchild of director Fred Guerrier, BEAR explores the life of a man who is emotionally distant from others and the quiet horrors of living in isolation. The main character, Guy, is an exotic dancer who wears a bear costume while performing. He shields himself from the pain of losing his father and his tormented childhood by keeping those who wish to gain companionship at bay. Guy’s seclusion sets off a series of events that in the end may cost him his life. “This story has been gnawing at me for a while now. I’m really excited to bring it to life,” said Fred Guerrier, director of the film. He and Wright embarked on this journey of telling Guy’s story in a short film, with actors native to Washington DC and New York City. Fred Guerrier is a filmmaker who was born in the Caribbean and raised in New York City. He holds a BA from Yale and an MFA from New York University. His shorts have played and won at festivals throughout the world. Jasmine Wright is a Chicago Native, attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is now a Reporter/Producer at PBS NewsHour.
